I work with English, French and Spanish. When the event requires other language combinations, I bring in professional interpreters with university training and proven experience, selected according to the topic and target audience.

During peak periods, it is recommended to book at least 2 or 3 weeks in advance, especially if the event requires multiple languages, multiple interpreters or technical coordination. In both cases, a prior technical test is coordinated with organizers and/or speakers.

The minimum hire is one hour, for both in-person and virtual events. This time includes both interpreting and availability for technical tests if necessary.

Simultaneous interpreting requires tremendous concentration and mental agility. Therefore, if the event lasts more than 90 minutes, two interpreters per language are needed, who take turns every 20 or 30 minutes to maintain quality and avoid fatigue-related errors. For shorter meetings or brief events, a single interpreter may be sufficient. However, for longer sessions or highly technical content, a rotating team is recommended to ensure accuracy, consistency, and fluency throughout.

Cancellation conditions are detailed when finalising the contract. Generally, if the event is cancelled with little notice (for example, less than 48 business hours), a partial or full fee may apply, depending on the circumstances. Sometimes, the best way to ensure everyone understands is to create space for the message to land. In these cases, the speaker delivers a segment of their speech, then pauses. That's when I step in and interpret what has just been said. This approach is known as 'successive translation' and is used a lot in press conferences, protocol meetings, short speeches or interviews, especially when no technical equipment is available or when a more direct, personal interaction is needed. Consecutive interpreting allows for a more measured pace, creating room for connection, for eye contact, attentive listening, and thoughtful delivery. My role is to ensure that each message is conveyed with accuracy and nuance, so that every word carries the same meaning and intention as the original.

When it comes to smaller meetings—executive meetings, negotiations, audits or plant and factory visits—what's needed is not a booth, but an interpreter by your side. Someone who facilitates conversation without interfering, and who understands the context, objectives and dynamics of the context. That's exactly the role I take on. I support meetings where agreements must be reached, important decisions made or simply where it is essential that everyone shares the same understanding. Sometimes portable equipment is used, and other times no technology is needed at all, thus allowing for natural face-to-face interactions.
